About Unlockly

Bank statements, payslips and government documents often arrive as password-protected PDFs. Unlockly lets you enter the password once and save an unlocked copy, so you don't have to type it every time or send it along with the file.

How it works

Your browser runs qpdf, a widely used open-source PDF library, compiled to WebAssembly. It opens the file with the password you provide and writes a decrypted copy. Text, images and layout are unchanged.

What it doesn't do

It can't open a PDF without the correct password, and it won't guess passwords. Only for files you have the right to open.
